Bea Schlingelhoff. Accounting Confessions

n.b.k. Showroom

14 Sep 2023 - 14 Jan 2024

Curator: Marius Babias

Starting September 13, 2023, a nondenominational bank account can be used for transfers to n.b.k.

Since 2000, n.b.k. has managed its business accounts at Pax-Bank, a nearby cooperative Christian-Catholic bank that follows ethical and sustainable investment criteria. In conjunction with the exhibition Accounting Confessions by Bea Schlingelhoff, n.b.k. has opened two additional bank accounts at a nondenominational cooperative bank. These new accounts can be used for managing future projects, collecting membership fees, and other purposes, and will remain active beyond the duration of the exhibition.

By exposing the flooring, opening the windowfront, and deconstructing the walls, the artist restores the exhibition space to its previous state as an office space. The walls are painted n.b.k. gray (RAL code 7047) and the IBANs of n.b.k.‘s two new accounts will be made public for the first time.

For Accounting Confessions, the artist also designed a unique typeface, named after and dedicated to Mary Daly.
