GL STRAND is a Copenhagen based institution rich in traditions and central to the city’s art life both in terms of history, geography and significance. Since its foundation in 1825. Kunstforeningen GL STRAND has resided at various addresses in Copenhagen’s city centre and has already celebrated its 180 years anniversary.
GL STRAND is a modern exhibition hall with an extensive history. In late summer 2010 GL STRAND reopened its doors for a newly refurbished and future art gallery. Our goal is to stay abreast of the newest tendencies within Danish and international contemporary art, our key objective being the support of young artists. We aim at propagating the understanding of art in general through exhibitions of contemporary art. Thus, our visions today are no different from when GL STRAND was founded in 1825.
