Zeitgeist — Karl Cobain, permanent installation at ca(fé)sino

Artist Claudia Passeri was invited to present a project related to the renovation of Casino Luxembourg in 2016.

With her luminous neon work entitled Zeitgeist - Karl Cobain, Claudia Passeri brings a touch a history, culture and light. Composed of two sound waves - one, the transcript of the first sentence of the Manifesto of the Communist Party by Karl Marx, and the other, a sentence Kurt Cobain sings in the cover of The Man Who Sold the World by David Bowie, with his band, Nirvana. Zeitgeist - Karl Cobain brings two ages together and two ideologies which are very distant but nonetheless close to the history of the Casino Luxembourg; the creation of the Casino Bourgeois was in the time of Karl Marx, and the Forum d'art contemporain was created one year after the death of Kurt Cobain.
