2 DE COPAS

May 28 - July 24, 2010

The group show 2 DE COPAS demonstrates the will of two art galleries in bringing to the debate some of the issues that bind Portugal and Brazil in contemporary art.
VERA CORTÊS ART AGENCY (Lisbon) and GALERIA VERMELHO (Sao Paulo) present works of 14 artists ( Angela Detanico e Rafael Lain, Cadu, Carla Zaccagnini, Daniel Blaufuks, Fabio Morais, Gisela Motta e Leandro Lima, João Louro, Leya Mira Brander, Marcelo Cidade, Marilá Dardot, Nicolás Robbio, Pedro Barateiro, Ricardo Jacinto e Wood & Harrison) of different nationalities, represented by five different galleries of both countries.

Wrapped around a complex sentient web, the works presented question relations of business, love and power in confrontation with the stable routines of the quotidian lives.

The TIJUANA project will also be presented. Inaugurated in October of 2007, TIJUANA was born from an initiative of the VERMELHO, aiming to create an alternative space capable of revealing works outside of the traditional exhibition format, namely the predictable white cube of the museums and galleries. The exhibition includes, among other media, artist books, prints, posters. The diversity of media, alongside the need of find other inclusive supports for this project, lead TIJUANA to grow and widen its cultural and geographical platform. Thus is born the TIJUANA LISBON, in VERA CORTÊS ART AGENCY.
