7 November 2013 - 16 March 2014

Since the early 1960s the painter Peter Saul has been creating an oeuvre that takes up topics that are both daring and critical as well as art-historical and political. His cartoony images, which are full of grotesque humour and charged in general with biting irony, evade conventional attributions and are today more relevant than ever. The Städtische Galerie Wolfsburg is presenting a selection of drawings by the American artist from 1960 until today as the first institution in Germany to do so. Peter Saul was born in San Francisco in 1934. He lives and works in New York.

Peter Saul worked with Kristof Baranski in the print workshop and created two graphics for the publication René Schmitt Druckgraphik www.rene-schmitt.com

An exhibition in cooperation with:
Galerie VW (VeneKlasen/Werner), Berlin and Mary Boone Gallery, New York.
