Stellen Nicht Aus!
23 April - 16 July 2015

At the Städtische Galerie Wolfsburg, the KONSORTIUM artists’ collective will restage a radical art-historical action in time and interpret it anew. The museum for contemporary art will present the documentation and results of this artistic re-action within its current exhibition programme, RE_VISION, at Schloss Wolfsburg until 16 July 2015. The exhibition conducts a dialogue with the artists’ group’s presentation at the Hauptbahnhof Wolfsburg:

Starting on 23 April 2015, the KONSORTIUM artists’ collective will transform the Kunst-Station into a temporary exhibition venue that does not want to be such a venue. The KONSORTIUM was established in Düsseldorf in 2004. Since then, the group has exhibited in numerous museums and galleries in Germany and abroad. In 2010, Lars Breuer, Sebastian Freytag and Guido Münch collaboratively realized a permanent wall installation for the Museum Folkwang in Essen. In addition to such collaborative projects, the three artists also continue to develop their own individual work independently.

With their current artistic contribution “N ́EXPOSENT PAS!” for the Kunst-Station Wolfsburg, the KONSORTIUM, with its wall and ceiling painting, enters not only into a concrete, formal-aesthetic dialogue with the minimalist floor artwork by Daniel Buren. As the transparency works on the window side of the space illustrates, the group focuses here focuses quite directly on the contemporary possibilities of collective artistic work. The BMPT (Buren, Mosset, Parmentier, Torini) group, set up by Daniel Buren himself in 1966, which realized four actions in Paris in 1967, in which they demonstrated their radical rejection of the established art industry, thereby serves KONSORTIUM as an historical reference.

The exhibition project at the Kunst-Station is realized in cooperation with the Deutsche Bahn and the Neuland Wohnungsgesellschaft.
