Boulevard du Centenaire Made in China and the serie of talks and screenings that will accompany it is a project that looks at Chinese migration to Africa through the example of Dakar.
Kan Si’s photographic essay is a documentation of the activity of Chinese traders on this mythical boulevard, at the heart of Dakar, definitely transformed into a China Town over the past ten years.
This exhibition forms part of pARTcours, art in the city. A city wide event initiated by Raw Material Company and Atelier Céramiques Almadie to increase the visibility of independents art spaces in the city of Dakar.
