Museion presents the first solo exhibition of Klara Lidén in Italy. The artist, born in Stockholm in 1979, has previously shown in prestigious institutions such as the New Museum in New York (2012) and the Serpentine gallery in London (2010). ). In 2009, Lidén’s work was presented as part of an exhibition in the Danish and Nordic Pavilions at the 53rd Venice Biennale, and she received a special mention from the jury of the 54th Venice Biennale. In 2012 she featured in the Museion exhibition The New Public with two works, Untitled (Trashcan) of 2010 and 2011.
Through videos, installations and performance, Lidén explores the limits of physical, psychological and social decorum in both public and private spaces. The street is an infinite source of inspiration and action for her and obsession with recycling and transforming urban materials, as well as the use of the body, are fundamental elements of her work, intimately personal and surprisingly blatant, mad and intelligent at the same time. At Museion, Lidén will present a number of works shown for the very first time, including a large installation made especially for the fourth floor, in which she literally brings the street into the museum via a sculpture made from asphalt.

The exhibition will take place under the patronage of the Swedish Embassy in Rome.
