The time has come for us to take a new look at the oeuvre of German artist Max Ernst (1891-1976). The last time his works were shown at Moderna Museet was in 1969. As one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, and a leading surrealist, Max Ernst continues to fascinate and inspire to this day.
The curator team consists of the German art historian and Max Ernst expert Werner Spies; Iris Müller-Westermann, curator of international art at Moderna Museet, and Kirsten Degel, curator at Louisiana Museum.
