Karin Mamma Andersson
5 May - 19 August 2007

Curator: Ann-Sofi Noring

Karin Mamma Andersson has rapidly emerged in recent years as one of Sweden’s most internationally famous artists. Her work has led to a renewed and intensified interest in the potential of painting. Born in Luleå in 1962, and raised amidst forests and art books, her work is imbued with beguiling narrative zest and frequent references to the stage and everyday settings as well as to works by other artists.

This exhibition, which comprises works from the past five years, is the artists largest exhibition to date, and gives visitors an opportunity to see works that are growing increasingly popular with collectors and museums all over the world. Karin Mamma Andersson won the Carnegie Art Award in 2005 and represented Sweden at the Venice Biennale in 2003.

Curator: Ann-Sofi Noring

The catalogue includes essays by Ann-Sofi Noring, Kim Levin and Midori Matsui, poems by Thomas Tidholm and a conversation between Karin Mamma Andersson and the author and playwright Lars Norén.
