An imaginary area extends over the five rooms of Karl Friedrich Schinkel's architecture.
The relationship between image and text as well as between space and movement appears in this site-specific work of Swantje Hielscher, a young conceptual artist. With feather ink she paints one ceiling and four separate walls, each pointing a different direction. Material and flow reveal traces of the past beneath satellite images of future-landscapes on each wall.
Prevented from conceiving the voluminous work at one glance the visitor is invited to explore it through a physical and mental motion.

Swantje Hielscher was born in 1980 in Braunschweig and lives in Berlin.
Previous exhibitions took place at Kunsthalle Basel (2008), Zendai Museum of Modern Art Shanghai (2006), Kunstverein Hanover (2005) and Musée d'art moderne et contemporain Geneva (2004).
