Continuing now in the specially reconstructed basement level of the K21 Ständehaus is the exhibition series Big Picture, which features large-scale installation works. Following Big Picture (Places/Projections) and Big Picture II (Time Zones), the subtitle of the third installment (Scenes) refers to narrative video and filmic works, performances, and theatrical presentations dating from the 1970s to the present. One special focus will be the works of Nan Hoover (1931-2008), a pioneer of media and performance art. Complementing one another in the presentation, which focuses on a dozen pieces, will be selected loans in conjunction with works from the permanent collection.
Screened in month-long installments in the cinema located in the apse of the basement level will be a program of new video and filmic works (Sarah Morris, Hubbard/Birchler, etc.).
