Deaf brings together French and foreign artists, represented or invited by the gallery. The exhibition “speaks” about an inaudible sound, with pieces at the confluence of sound and image, where the audible becomes visible. Indeed, the sculptures, paintings, photographs and collages presented are originated by the music, but they remain silent.
The pieces, many produced for the exhibition, take part of an almost fetishistic imagery of rock’n’roll, of its icons, its symbols and its practices. The universe of rock and pop meets the figures and the objects emblematic of the musical world, once recycled. Many silent works that do not represent the art of rock'n'roll but the rock'n'roll of art.
