Dvir Gallery is happy to announce a new solo show by Ariel Schlesinger.
The show includes recent works by the artist, currently based in Berlin.
Among the works featured is Stolpersteine, an installation made in reference to Gunter Demning’s ongoing memorial art project in 610 cities across Europe.
Stolpersteine (‘stumbling blocks’) are small commemorative brass plaques inserted in sidewalks in front of the former residencies of Nazism’s victims, whether expelled or exterminated. Each plaque indicates the name of an individual victim, their year of birth, the time and place of their deportation, and, when such details are available, their fate and the circumstances of their death.
