The work of the five artists included in From There involves the notion of an alien presence. All of the works address the notion of manifestation, its articulation, and how otherness might be described or imagined. This is expressed through sculpture and video that either embodies or suggests the presence of elements that have definitely come from elsewhere. Unexplainable, unclear in terms of source and rationale, they have either an emphatic physical presence or they depict substance and matter in motion.
