Self-Optimisation
The artists’ collective SCHAUM works conceptionally with photography, painting, graphics, objects, installations and performance. It develops self-reflexive, critical approaches for art and culture from its conception of itself as an example of the smallest social unit. In the exhibition in the passageway of the Akademie building on Pariser Platz SCHAUM takes into account the increasing relevancy of self-optimisation, using visual and aesthetic means to investigate mechanisms of exaggerated individualism in modern times.
